ROXI: a small compact vertically-pointing X-band radar Doppler for atmospheric profiling
Résumé
ROXI is a compact transportable X-band radar designed to provide long-term measurements of reflectivity and Doppler (velocity and spectra) in rainy situation. It was initially thought to perform studies on ice microphysics to address uncertainties in the retrieval of rain from satellite remote-sensing instruments.
Since its deployment in Q4 2016, ROXI has been deployed in various field campaigns during which a rich dataset was acquired.
In the present short paper, we present a number of possible applications of such a versatile system.
